Spanish hoteliers forecast record bookings for Easter week
Already, the number of bookings for Easter week in hotels in Spain has exceeded 45%. And the Tourism Board said occupancy in sought-after cities would be around 70%, marking «the best quarter in the history of Spanish tourism».
The Minister of Industry and Tourism of Spain, Jordi Hereu, shared the following forecast: «The country will welcome a total of 14.5 million tourists in March and April. This is two million more than in 2023. They are expected to spend 19 billion euros, which is 3.7 billion euros more than in the same months last year».
Travelers who want to take part in the celebration of Semana Santa (Holy Week) and are looking for where to stay in Spain for Easter should note that hotel prices will increase by 4-6%. Regions expected to have the highest average daily room rates (ADR) include Madrid, Canary Islands, Andalusia, and Catalonia.
Semana Santa in Spain in 2024 lasts from March 24 to March 31 and ends on Easter Sunday.
