Spain’s first smart piano appeared on Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona
Spain’s first solar-powered smart piano has been installed on Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona. The instrument is made of innovative environmentally friendly materials. It is specially designed for outdoor use and is not afraid of heat, cold or precipitation.
The city received such an unusual gift as part of the events of the 69th Maria Canals International Music Competition and in collaboration with the 1000pianos project.
The “smart” functionality of the piano allows organizers to control it remotely: adjust the sound volume, limit operating time (from 10:00 to 21:00), and collect data on battery charge. There is a solar panel on the lid of the instrument, so it works autonomously.
The piano will be permanently located in the center of Barcelona, and everyone who wants to play will have access to it.
