Eurovision 2024: new bookmaker rankings and the first days of rehearsals
Less than a week is left until the start of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo (Sweden). The first and second semi-finals of the competition will take place on 7 and 9 May, while the grand final will take place on 11 May. On that day, we will be able to see a spectacular performance of Eurovision 2024 representatives from Spain — dance electro-pop band Nebulossa with their song Zorra. And today, 2 May, from 7.20 pm to 7.50 pm, the first rehearsal of Nebulossa will take place on the stage of Malmö Arena. You can watch a video of the rehearsal on eurovision.tv.
Ahead of the semi-finals, bookmakers have updated their favourites rankings on the Eurovision World website. Now the top ten looks like this:
- Switzerland (Nemo)
- Croatia (Baby Lasagna)
- Italy (Angelina Mango)
- Ukraine (alyona alyona & Jerry Heil)
- Netherlands (Joost Klein)
- France (Slimane)
- Israel (Eden Golan)
- Greece (Marina Satti)
- Ireland (Bambie Thug)
- Belgium (Mustii)
Spain is in 21st place in the ranking. But history proves that bookmakers don’t always succeed in predicting the real winner. It is all the more interesting to compare their predictions with the results of the OGAE Poll — a poll of official Eurovision fan clubs, about which we have already written earlier. After all the clubs have voted, the top ten looks like this:
- Croatia
- Italy
- Switzerland
- Belgium
- France
- Ukraine
- Austria
- Lithuania
- Spain
- Netherlands
And this is a much more encouraging forecast for Spain. We wish Nebulossa a successful performance and will continue to bring you the most important events of Eurovision 2024.
