Fiesta Nacional de España (Día De La Hispanidad)

From October 4 to 13, Madrid will host the fourth edition of Hispanidad, a festival celebrating the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Its program includes many free concerts, exhibitions, parades and dozens of other events that thousands of citizens and tourists enjoy.
The festival starts on October 4 at 19:00 with a grand opening at the Lope de Vega House-Museum. Conductor Alondra de la Parra, director of the Orchestra and Chorus of the Community of Madrid (ORCAM), will solemnly proclaim the beginning of the festivities.
One of the most spectacular events will be the Hispanidad parade, which will take place on October 5. More than 1,000 representatives from 22 Spanish-speaking countries will participate in the parade, along with six decorated floats from Mexico (this year’s guest country), Colombia, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Miami and the Madrid Community. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Plaza España and will proceed to the intersection of Gran Via with Alcalá Street.
The most anticipated among the free performances is a concert by Colombian Manuel Turizo, who will perform at Puerta de Alcalá on October 6, at 13:00. The festival will culminate with the Armed Forces Parade on October 12.
XXI Semana Internacional de la Arquitectura 2024

Those interested in Spain’s architectural and artistic heritage should attend the XXI International Week of Architecture, which will be held in Madrid from October 4 to 17. The event is organized by the Official College of Architects of Madrid and the COAM Architectural Foundation in collaboration with the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid. The guest country of the event will be Peru and the guest city will be its capital Lima. The program of the event includes two exhibitions:
- Lima húmeda. Paisajes metropolitanos a través de los ciclos, espacios y habitantes del agua — dedicated to the architectural and artistic heritage of Lima;
- Le fil rouge. RPBW Architects — a monograph on the Renzo Piano Building Workshop studio.
Also awaiting guests and exhibitors are courses, conferences, children’s workshops, an architectural design marketplace and guided visits to buildings and city routes.
FunTech at the Centre Comercial Bonaire
Where: Aldaya, Valencia
When: September 28 to October 5
For a whole week, the central square of the Bonaire shopping center is transformed into a huge play area. An innovative magic show, a concert of glowing drums, dancers in LED costumes, a virtual reality station, humorous performances and a family championship on computer games — all this and more, the organizers have planned for the guests of the holiday. Mercado Medieval de València
Where: Valencia, Turia Garden

If you like the atmosphere of a bygone era, be sure to visit the Medieval Market of Valencia, which opens on October 5 in the Turia Garden (between Puente de la Exposición and Puente de las Flores). For 8 days, this cozy corner will be transformed into an authentic medieval town with an artisan market, a military camp and many street actors. The festival program includes live performances, theatrical performances, historical reconstructions, dragon shows, exhibitions, workshops and games. The Medieval Market will be open daily from 10:30 to 00:00.
Concerts by the National Bandurist Chapel

One of the best creative groups of Ukraine – National Bandurist Chapel, visited Spain as part of a charitable European tour. The musicians want to support their colleagues who are now fighting at the front. Fans of Ukrainian music have a chance to attend the last three concerts of the group as part of the tour in Spain:
- October 5 — Seville and Granada;
- October 6 — Almeria.
Traditionally, as a sign of gratitude, the musicians perform one song in the language of the country they are touring. Those who cannot attend the concert, but wish to support the band, can buy a virtual ticket to «row zero». To do this, you need to transfer money to the organizers’ account at BBVA.
Chefs on Fire

This year Madrid will host the Portuguese barbecue festival Chefs on Fire for the first time. 20 renowned chefs will take their kitchens outside to cook meat, fish, seafood, as well as vegetarian dishes and desserts over bonfires. From 12:00 to 00:00 on Saturday and from 12:00 to 22:00 on Sunday, good spirits and excellent food await the guests of the festival, which will be complemented by a diverse concert program. Genesis Light Show

After successful performances in Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao, the spectacular Genesis light show is coming to Valencia. A 30-minute journey illustrating the first seven days of Creation awaits you. The performance consists of four parts dedicated to the elements of light, water, earth and plants.
The stunning show, which combines art, music, state-of-the-art projections and video mapping, will take place in the heart of Valencia, in the Jesuit Church on Gran Vía Fernando el Católico. The classic story of a princess awakened by the kiss of a prince in love is given a modern incarnation. A fairy tale familiar from childhood has been transformed into a stunning dance show combining classical ballet and modern technology. Professional dancers capture the imagination of the audience with stunning grace, skill and spectacular luminous costumes.
