  • There are no restaurants or cafes at the top of the mountain where the cable car leads. The exception is the cafeteria at Montjuic Castle, which can only be accessed by purchasing entrance tickets to visit the attraction. Therefore, it is better to take water and a snack with you, especially when traveling with children.
  • Before purchasing tickets or planning a time to visit Teleférico de Montjuic, it is worth checking the weather forecast for the selected day. If there is a strong wind, the operation of the cable car may be stopped, and during rains and fogs, it will be difficult to see the panorama.
  • Since this is not so much a mode of transport as a popular attraction, there are often queues. It doesn’t matter whether you bought a ticket in advance or are going to do it at the box office – there is only one queue. On weekdays it is less, on weekends it is more. It is worth taking this factor into account when planning your stay in Barcelona.
  • According to experienced travelers, the best views of the city from the cable car open at sunset, when everything is illuminated with a soft, warm light.
  • There are two viewpoints in the Montjuic area that you shouldn’t miss. Both the Mirador de Montjuic and the Mirador de l’Alcalde offer stunning views not only of the city center but also of Barcelona’s port. The Mirador de l’Alcalde also has a beautiful cascading fountain.
