Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca reach the final of the Copa del Rey

Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca will play in the final of the Copa Del Rey. It will take place on April 6 in Seville.

Mallorca, who represent the Balearic Islands, earned their place in the final after a sensational penalty shootout victory over Real Sociedad on February 27. This is the fourth time the team has reached the final of the Copa del Rey. They managed to win this trophy once – in the 2002/03 season.

Athletic Bilbao (Basque Country) qualified for the final by beating Atlético Madrid 3-0 at their home stadium, San Mamés, on 29 February. They won the Spanish Cup 23 times, but the last time this happened was in 1984.
