According to Forbes research conducted with the help of Heepsy, cities popular among tourists with the most beautiful sunset views have been chosen. Fourth place in this ranking went to Barcelona and seventh place to Madrid.
Barcelona’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is 27 — and that’s a great score. And there are dozens of places to watch the sunset. The most popular are Castillo de Montjuich, which rises above the city at 173 metres, Bunkers del Carmel at the top of the Turó de la Rovira hill (250 metres), and Parc Güell. The latter, although not as high a vantage point, gives stunning views of the city and Gaudí’s famous creations. And don’t forget the terraces of the famous W Barcelona Hotel, which we wrote about in «Places to stay in Barcelona — 9 Best neighborhoods for tourists».
In terms of air quality, Madrid is not inferior to Barcelona. To admire the sunset, choose one of these locations: Templo de Debod, Tierno Galván Park, the Faro de Moncloa observation deck, or the CentroCentro rooftop terrace. For a great dinner and to discover the vegetarian cuisine of the Spanish capital, go to one of the restaurants we recommend in our publication «7 Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Madrid: A Mini-Guide to Gastronomy from Spain Voyages».
