EUmies Awards 2024 Exhibition in Madrid

Don’t miss the free exhibition demonstrating the best architectural projects created in Europe over the past 2 years. The exhibition presents 362 works nominated for the prestigious EUmies Awards 2024. They cover 38 countries, 125 regions and 240 locations – from the icy landscapes of Greenland to the subtropical banana plantations of the Canary Islands.
The EUmies Awards 2024 Exhibition is held at the Casa de la Arquitectura de Madrid (Paseo de la Castellana, 67). Opening hours: from 11:00 to 20:00 from Tuesday to Saturday and from 11:00 to 15:00 on Sundays and public holidays.
Carrer 024
Where: Madrid
When: August 25
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, professional contemporary dance company Sol Picó will stage a new large-scale street show, Carrer 024. The audience is invited to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of dance and take part in a powerful and emotional production using large sets. Through music and choreography, the dancers will talk about the paradox of loneliness, which has a huge impact on society. Tickets for the show can be booked here from 10:00 on August 18.
Sala Barcelona — Música la Castell de Montjuïc

The Montjuïc Castle in Barcelona is hosting the Sala Barcelona — Música la Castell de Montjuïc concert series. The event, which appeared during the pandemic, has become one of the most popular events in the summer music calendar. The 2024 program includes six concerts. Clara Peya performed on August 1st, and Joe Crepusculo took to the stage on the 9th. Don’t miss the following four concerts:
- August 23rd — Ketekalles;
- August 30th, 9:00 PM — VVV [Trippin’you] + Tetas frías;
- September 5th — Mishima;
- September 13th — Soul Party con la Orchestral Soul Society.

Born de noche (Born de nit) Night Tours
Where: Barcelona
When: July 2 to September 7
Take a trip back to Barcelona in the 1700s with the Born de noche night tours, organized by the El Born Cultural and Memory Center. Every day from Tuesday to Saturday at 8:00 pm, take a professional guide on one of the exclusive routes to discover the historic district of la Ribera. You will learn how the city’s water supply was organized 300 years ago, how witches were persecuted, and how Barcelona survived the plague.

- Gent del barri: històries humanes del Born (Neighborhood People: Human Stories of the Born) — Tuesday, from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm;
- Archaeology Night — Wednesday, 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM;
- Black Chronicle of the Born. Conflict, Violence and Justice in 1700 (Crònica negra al Born. Conflicte, Violència i Justícia al 1700) — Thursday, 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM;
- Witches of Barcelona. Women and Persecution in Our Time (Bruixes de Barcelona. Dones i persecució en època moderna) — Friday, 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
In addition, every Saturday at 8:00 PM there are new routes through the Ribera district:

Live Shibari Show at the Erotic Museum
Where: Barcelona
When: July 14 to September 8
Discover the seductive world of shibari at the Erotic Museum. Actors Paolo Cosme and Maina invite everyone to an erotic live show where they demonstrate the Japanese art of tying. After the show, the actors interact with the audience and answer their questions. Tickets for the show can be purchased here. They also include admission to the Erotic Museum and a glass of cava.
Noches en Vivo 2024 (Nits en Viu al Poble Espanyol)
Where: Barcelona
When: July 31 to September 1
Enjoy the best live music in Barcelona at the Pueblo Español architectural and ethnographic museum. The Noches en Vivo concert series takes place here from late July to early September. This year’s program includes more than 30 live performances in the genres of blues, rock, pop and rumba. They are divided into 4 cycles:
- Blues On The Rocks — Cocktails & Music (Wednesdays);
- Mahou Rock & Grill (Thursdays);
- The 90’s Queens’ Nights (Fridays);
- Fritanga! Tapeo y rumba (Sundays).

Malaga Fair (Feria de Málaga)
Where: Malaga (Andalusia)
When: from 17 to 24 August
The best way to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of Andalusia is to visit the famous Malaga Fair. This colorful festival is dedicated to the conquest of the city by the Catholic Monarchs in 1487. Feria de Málaga starts in mid-August and lasts for 9 days, which turn into one endless fiesta.
The Feria de Málaga 2024 program includes about 200 entertainment events and concerts. Many famous artists will perform on the stage located in the historic center of the city, including José Mercé, Lucrecia, Toni Zenet, María Pelae, Chenoa, Carlos Baute and Adrián Martín. Traditional religious processions in honor of the city’s patron saints and the Virgin Mary are also planned. And also the famous Spanish bullfight Feria de Agosto Taurina. Andalusia is one of the few places in Spain where this event is still not banned. The full program of the fair can be found here.
Festigàbal 2024
Where: Barcelona
When: August 16-17
Want to listen to good music for free? Then come to Jardins de la Sedeta on Friday and Saturday. The Festigàbal music festival, organised by the popular Heliogàbal bar, is taking place here as part of the Festa Major de Gracia.
On the evening of August 16th, El Diablo de Shanghai, Ven’nus, Tiemei, Zimmer90, PD Pubilla, Heliogàbal DJs, Suu + Ven’nus DJ Set and Les Cosines DJs will perform. The following day, Maria Jaume, Júlia Colom, Enric Mont Lecocq, Merina Gris, Cannoli & Limoncello DJs, DJs de Nòvies, Hans Ruiz DJ and Llamadas Perdidas DJs will take to the stage. The concerts start at 8pm.
