This is a series of concerts that take place throughout the year in different cities in Spain. European Balloon Festival 2024
Where: Igualada (Barcelona, Catalonia)
When: 11-14 July.
During the European Balloon Festival, dozens of colourful domes take to the skies above Igualada. Flights take off from various points in the city in the mornings from 6:30 am and in the evenings from 7:00 pm. Pilots from Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, Monaco, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and Qatar participate in the festival. In addition to competition and demonstration flights, the programme also includes many musical and entertainment events.

Pirotecnia Vulcano Pyromusical Show
Where: Valencia
When: 13 June, at 00:30 am
The Pirotecnia Vulcano pyromusical show kicks off on Saturday night over the Monteolivete bridge. It will be inspired by Andreu Alfaro’s famous Cosmos 62 sculpture.
A new five-star hotel will open on the Costa Brava
Where: Tossa de Mar (Girona, Catalonia)
When: 15 June
The Elisabeth By The Sea beach hotel will open its doors for the first time on 15 July after a lengthy refurbishment that transformed it from a two-star to a five-star hotel. It is housed in a beautiful 1930s building. The hotel offers 150 luxurious rooms, two-thirds of which boast views of Tossa Castle and the sea. On-site facilities include a spa, rooftop pool and two restaurants with Mediterranean cuisine.
Stripart 2024 Festival
Where: Barcelona (Catalonia)
When: Until 19 June. Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.
The Stripart 2024 festival takes place at Centre Cívic Guinardó and is dedicated to artistic projects by young authors. It presents the work of 65 creators in a variety of disciplines: painting, video art, photography, art installation, sculpture and more. The festival programme also includes concerts, seminars and master classes.

Ballet Nacional de España «GENERACIONES»
Where: Madrid
When: 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 July at 8:00 pm, 21 and 28 July at 6:00 pm
The audience of this great show at Teatro de la Zarzuela will be immersed in the history of passionate Spanish dance. A new reading of the classics performed by the stars of the National Ballet of Spain. Musical accompaniment — Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM), as well as musicians and flamenco singers BNE.

Nightly themed parties at the Complejo de Piscinas del Parque del Oeste aquatic centre.

When: every Friday up to and including 30 August
The Complejo de Piscinas del Parque del Oeste in Valencia will host themed night parties every Friday from 9:00 pm to 01:00 am throughout July and August. Their programme includes music shows, inflatable rides and fun activities for children and adults.
Tickets can be purchased directly on site or booked in advance on the aqua complex website. Adult tickets cost 4.60 euros and children’s tickets cost 3.35 euros.
Summer cinemas in Spain
Spain has a wonderful summer tradition of holding outdoor cinema screenings — in parks, on beaches, in beautiful historical locations. The most popular open-air cinema in Barcelona is the Sala Montjuïc, which is located in the Montjuïc Castle. Screenings take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The films start at 10:00 pm. But before that, from 8:15 pm, there is a live band on stage. You can buy a ticket on the cinema’s website for 8 euros (without a deckchair) or 11 euros (including a deckchair).
The Cinema Lliure a la Platja project holds free cinema screenings on the beaches of Catalonia — Platja de Sant Sebastià in Barcelona, Platja de la Fragata in Sitges, Platja de la Móra, Platja de l’Arrabassada, Platja de Llevant and Platja de Ponent in the province of Tarragona, Platja de Sant Esteve La Fosca in Platja Gran de Tossa de Mar in the province of Girona. Access is free and no seat reservation is required. The start of the session, depending on the time of sunset, varies from 21:30 to 22:00. Details are on the project’s website.
In Madrid, up to and including 28 July, CinePlaza summer film screenings are scheduled at the Matadero Madrid cultural and entertainment complex. The screenings will take place from Thursday to Sunday. They will start at 22:15. Tickets are available at the Matadero box office on cinema days from 19:00 to 21:45 or can be purchased online at cinetecamadrid.com.
Another summer cinema in Madrid is the Cibeles de Cine at the Galería de Cristal. Screenings will be held until 31 July, every day. Screenings start at 10:00 pm.
From 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, viewers can visit the bar and lounge area. Tickets cost from 6 euros. You can purchase them at cibelesdecine.com.
CEM Guinardó’s summer outdoor pool has reopened after renovations
Where: Barcelona (Catalonia)
When: until 8 September, daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
CEM Guinardó’s public pool has reopened after an extensive refurbishment. It features a shaded gazebo and a sunbathing area with views of the Catalan capital. The pool is equipped with a ramp.
A ticket costs 8.08 euros on weekdays and 8.76 euros on weekends. Children under 5 years old can use the pool for free.
Puro Latino Fest
Where: Torremolinos (Málaga, Andalusia)
When: 19 and 20 July at 7:30 pm
The festival will take place on the Recinto Ferial Torremolinos esplanade. On the first day, guests will be treated to electrifying performances by Anuel AA, Bryant Myers, Morad, Gente de Zona, María Becerra, RVFV and Blessd. On the second day, the party will continue to the rhythms of Saiko, Jhayco, JC Reyes, Omar Courtz, Cris Mj, YOVNGCHIMI and Jose de las Heras.
