On the last Wednesday of August, the town of Buñol, 36 kilometres from Valencia, will host the traditional La Tomatina festival. This is the largest tomato battle that attracts tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world every year.
The festival has no sacred significance. It is just a battle of tomatoes, during which everyone has a lot of fun.
To take part in Tomatina, you need to buy a ticket. It costs 15 euros. You can book it on the official website, buy it in travel agencies or directly on the spot. The number of tickets is limited, and their sale has already started.
Also, tourists should take into account that Bunyol is a small town. Therefore, you should book a hotel and plan your trip in advance.
