Madrid is preparing for Taylor Swift concerts at the end of May

Madrid is preparing to host Taylor Swift. As part of his European tour, The Eras Tour, the star will perform twice at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Initially, only one concert was announced, scheduled for May 30. But due to unprecedented demand for tickets, city authorities decided to organize an additional performance on May 29. Fans who were unable to purchase tickets for Thursday’s concert and were waitlisted have a second chance. Even though prices ranged from 85 to 226.50 euros, and a VIP pass cost as much as 589 euros, all seats were sold out very quickly. Now, when there are less than two weeks left before the long-awaited performance, not a single ticket is on official sale.

Taylor Swift’s show in Madrid is set to celebrate all the milestones of her music career. It includes several stages, each of which is dedicated to one of the star’s albums, and 44 songs are planned in the repertoire. The performance on 29 May will start at 8 pm, and the next day’s concert will be a little earlier — 6:30 pm.

The huge popularity of Taylor Swift’s show in Madrid has led to an increase in room prices. In particular, taking advantage of the Swiftie craze, one of the hotels in the Spanish capital is offering fans a «Presidential Suite» package for 30,000 euros. Its price includes VIP access to the star’s performance.

To calculate the impact of the concert, Lighthouse compared room prices during the Eras Tour in Madrid with the average for the previous and subsequent weeks. As a result, during Taylor Swift’s performance in the Spanish capital, an increase of 23% was recorded.
