Madrid’s Naviluz Christmas bus will begin running on Nov. 29
Madrid’s most popular Christmas bus, Naviluz, is preparing to travel around the festively decorated city. The city’s favorite «el autobús de las luces» («the bus of light») will start running on Friday, November 29 and will run until January 6, 2025. A ride on Naviluz is the best way to see Madrid’s Christmas lights in all their glory and to discover its iconic places.
Naviluz will depart from a stop on Calle Felipe IV (between the Goya door of the Prado Museum and the service door of the Ritz Hotel) and end the ride at Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo. The route of about 40-50 minutes will take you through Madrid’s most famous streets, squares and neighborhoods where you can see the brightest Christmas lights. These include Velázquez, Goya, Serrano, plaza de Colón, Puerta de Alcalá, Cibeles, Alcalá, Virgen de los peligros, Clavel, Gran Vía, Alcalá, Plaza de Cibeles, Plaza de las Cortes, Neptuno, Paseo del Prado.
Christmas bus flights are scheduled daily from 18:00 to 21:50 with the exception of December 24 and 31, and January 5. From 18:00 to 21:00 the regular fare is in effect and then the fares are reduced. Check the schedule and fares at naviluz.es.
The standard ticket price for adults is 10 euros, for children 7-11 years old and seniors (65+) — 5 euros. Children under 7 will be able to ride the bus for free, but they still need to book a ticket.
During the trip passengers not only admire the Christmas decorations, but also listen to the guides’ stories about the places the bus passes through. And to make it more cheerful, everyone is offered water and a turron.
