Meliá Hotels International has opened its fourth luxury hotel in Madrid. The hotel, formerly called Madrid Atocha Affiliated by Meliá, is located in the literary center of the city, the Barrio de las Letras district. After a complete renovation, it was renamed Casa de las Artes Meliá Collection.

The hotel pays tribute to the cultural heritage of Barrio de las Letras and the famous writers who walked its streets during Spain’s Golden Age. The project was designed by architects Adriana and Álvaro Sanz of Studio ASAH. Its connecting thread was the visual arts in all its forms. Painting, sculpture, music, dance, literature, architecture and cinema are all united in a single concept.

The hotel complex, dating back to 1913, consists of four interconnected buildings. The goal of the renovation was to enhance the historic architecture while modernizing it with contemporary resources.

Casa de las Artes Meliá Collection includes 137 rooms. As a tribute to Miguel Cervantes, each is decorated with engravings by Gustave Doré from the 1869 edition of Don Quixote.

The hotel offers a library, a cinema, a glass-roofed patio, a thermal pool, conference rooms and a fitness center. In addition, the concept of a show restaurant has been realized here, which offers guests not only delicious dishes, but also an exciting performance.
