Night of Museums 2024 will be held in Barcelona on May 18

On May 18, Barcelona and other cities in the province will host the Night of Museums (La Nit dels Museus 2024). 87 museums and cultural spaces will open their doors for free admission from 7 pm to 1 am. In addition to Barcelona, the event is attended by Badalona, Cornella de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, L’Hospitalet, Sant Adria de Besos, Sant Joan Despi and Santa Coloma de Gramanet.

La Nit dels Museus is a unique opportunity to not only visit permanent and temporary exhibitions of world-famous museums for free, but also take part in a variety of exciting events, including family workshops, excursions and live performances. Participating museums at La Nit dels Museus 2024 include:

  • Montjuic Castle (Castell de Montjuïc);
  • Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA. Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona);
  • European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM. Museu Europeu d’Art Modern);
  • observation deck Torre Glories (Mirador Torre Glòries);
  • Museum of Archeology of Catalonia (Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya);
  • Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona (Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona);
  • Chocolate Museum (Museu de la Xocolata);
  • Picasso Museum (Museu Picasso de Barcelona);
  • Barcelona Maritime Museum (Museu Marítim de Barcelona);
  • Palace Güell (Palau Güell).

In 2024, four new spaces will open their doors for the first time to La Nit dels Museus Sala Barcelona, ​​Centre Martorell d’Exposicions, Museu de l’Art Prohibit and la Muralla Romana. In addition, the event coincides with World Museum Day, which has not happened since 2019.
