Philip VI and Queen Letizia will pay an official visit to Jordan
Their Majesties King Philip VI and Queen Letizia will travel to Jordan on October 5, where they will be received by King Abdullah II and Queen Rania at Al-Husseiniya Palace. The official visit, which is meant to strengthen political and cultural ties between the two nations, will last until October 7. Besides the ceremony at the palace, several cultural events and a business meeting are scheduled during the trip. The royal couple will travel to Jordan accompanied by Foreign, EU and Cooperation Minister Jose Manuel Albares.
Jordan was the first country that Philip VI and Letizia visited since their wedding 20 years ago. And even earlier, in March 1999, Philip, then a prince, became the first dignitary to visit Jordan since Abdullah ascended to the throne. The current trip will take place at a time of great tension in the conflict in the Middle East, which was one of the main topics of the last meeting between the two monarchs on December 12, 2023 in Spain.
