Primavera Sound 2024 in Barcelona: what’s in the programme of the grandiose music festival

The famous Primavera Sound 2024 festival will take place from 29 May to 3 June in Barcelona. The main events of this grand musical event will take place from 30 May to 1 June on 15 stages at Parc del Fòrum. Headliners for Primavera Sound 2024 include Pulp, Vampire Weekend, Justice, Lana Del Rey, Disclosure, The National, SZA, PJ Harvey, Mitski and Charli XCX. In total, the festival programme features more than 160 performers. 

Opening act Primavera Sound 2024, headlined by Phoenix, will take place on Wednesday 29 May on the Amazon Music stage. Also performing there will be Stella Maris, Tropical Fuck Storm, Ratboys and Maria Jaume. Admission to this event is free. On the closing day of the festival, 2 June, the Pull&Bear stage will host a Brunch Electronik party with ANOTR, The Blessed Madonna, Chloé Caillet, Mochakk, Isa Rojas and Pole Position.

And what’s in store for visitors on the main days of the festival at its hottest venues?

On the Auditori Rockdelux stage, performances will take place daily from 30 May to 1 June, starting at 4:30 pm. Here you’ll be able to see stars who have long been part of Primavera Sound’s living history, including William Basinski, Shabaka, Jessica Pratt and Julie Byrne.

The Amazon Music and Pull&Bear stages on the Grand Esplanade will host the musical baton for all three festival days, from evening until the early hours of the morning. The first performances at Amazon Music will begin at 6 pm, while Pull&Bear will start at 5:10 pm. 

For the third year in a row, Santander and Estrella Damm will be the two main Primavera Sound stages where the daily headliners will perform. They will kick off with a performance by Barcelona band Mujeres on 30 May at 5:30 pm. 

The CUPRA stage, known for its amphitheatre and sea view, is ready to welcome everyone to dance the night away. Performances here will start at 5:15 pm and finish the following morning. The most anticipated stars of this venue are BadBadNotGood, American Football and Beth Gibbons.

Under the famous solar panel at Parc del Fòrum is the Plenitude stage. Performances here will start at 4:30 pm and last until the early hours of the next morning. This is definitely your stage if you are fans of The Armed, Tirzah and Dogstar, whose bassist is Keanu Reeves. 

Across from Plenitude is the Steve Albini stage. It is named after an irreplaceable member of the Primavera family — Steve Albini, founder of the band Shellac, who passed away on 7 May 2024. All performances at this venue will be dedicated to his memory. Don’t miss the most iconic one, which will take place on 30 May at 6:55 pm. Shellac will present the new album To All Trains and fans will have the chance to say goodbye to their favourite artist. 

The Estrella Damm stage on the Primavera Sound promenade is the best place for the most active and energetic festival-goers. And the Boiler Room x CUPRA, which will be open daily from 6:00 pm, will be waiting for fans of the club atmosphere.
