On 30 April, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich played in the first leg of the 2024 Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena in Munich. The match ended in a 2-2 draw. At the start of the game, Thomas Tuchel’s side took the initiative. Already in the first minutes, the Reds’ striker Leroy Sane attacked the Real Madrid goal, but goalkeeper Andrei Lunin kicked the ball away. Soon after, the Reds had their first positional attack, and then took the initiative on the pitch. The first goal of the game flew into the gates of Bayern. It was scored on 24 minutes by Spanish striker Vinicius Junior.
The return goal from the Reds followed in the second half. It was scored by Leroy Sane on 53 minutes. And 2 minutes later, Lucas Vazquez knocked down German attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala and «gave» the opponents a penalty. Bayern striker Harry Kane confidently hit the opponents’ goal from eleven metres. After that, both Reds and Cream showed energetic play on the field, but could not realise a single goal.
On 82 minutes, German centre-back Kim Min-Jae fouled Spanish striker Rodrigo on the turf in the penalty area. A penalty was awarded, which was successfully kicked by Vinicius Junior and levelled the score — 2:2. The figures on the scoreboard did not change until the end of this beautiful match between the two giants of football.
The decisive second semi-final will be held on 8 May at the home arena of the Cream — the stadium Santiago Bernabeu in the Spanish capital. It will determine whether Real Madrid will get a chance to compete for the Champions League title in the Champions League final on 1 June at Wembley in London.
