Renfe launched its low-cost Avlo brand in Galicia at the end of July 2024. The low-cost high-speed service will be provided by the new S106 trains with movable wheels, which can adapt to different types of tracks. Equipped with 12 carriages and 581 seats, the trains can travel at speeds of up to 300 km/h.
Now, two daily Avlo services have been added to the existing train service between Galicia and Madrid, one in each direction. The trains pass through Santiago de Compostela and stop at all the stations on the line: Segovia, Medina del Campo, Zamora, Sanabria AV, A Gudiña, Ourense, Vilagarcía de Arousa and Pontevedra.
From Madrid to A Coruña, the Avlo service departs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 17:08. Services to Vigo are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at the same time.
The train from A Coruña to Madrid departs at 6:34 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. From Vigo, the service departs at 5:57 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Until September 30, as part of the «Superprices » promotion, tickets for Avlo trains in Galicia will cost from 7 euros.
