In terms of the number of awards (15), Spain ranks 14th in the overall table.

On Wednesday, August 7, world champions in 20 km race walking Alvaro Martin and Maria Perez won the second gold medal for Spain. On August 8, Spanish athletes won two bronze medals — in the men’s 500m canoe double final and in the men’s canoe four final.

On the evening of August 9, Spain received its third Olympic gold. The men’s football team beat the French team in the final match with a score of 5:3. The victory for the Spaniards was brought by two goals from Sergio Camello in overtime. The fourth gold medal was also not long in coming. In the final competition in the triple jump among men, the Spanish athlete Jordan Diaz took first place, showing a result of 17.58 m. Silver went to the Portuguese Pedro Pichardo, and the bronze was taken by the Italian Andy Diaz.
