Spain’s national football team has played its first matches in the group rounds of the UEFA Nations League
The Spanish national football team after the triumph at Euro 2024 began its participation in the group stage of the UEFA Nations League.
The Spaniards played their first game on 5 September against the Serbs at their home stadium in Belgrade. Unexpectedly, La Furia Roja failed to beat the Balkans and score at least one goal. After two intense halves, the match ended in a nil-nil draw. At the same time, the Spanish national team had more possession of the ball and took more shots, including shots on goal.
The second game was held on 8 September in Geneva. The Spaniards showed themselves in all their glory and beat the Swiss with a score of 1:4. The first goal came in the fourth minute thanks to Joselu. Nine minutes later, Fabian Ruiz scored. However, in the twentieth minute, Spain were left with ten men — Robin Le Normand received a red card for a last-ditch foul. At the end of the first half, Switzerland scored the only goal, which was scored by Zeki Amdouni. On 77 minutes Fabian Ruiz made a double, and Ferran Torres on 80 minutes finally consolidated the lead of his team, playing in the minority.
The next match, Spain will play against Denmark on 12 October. And the return match with Serbia will be held on 15 October.
