From 11 to 19 May 2024, the 69th exhibition of flowers, patios and gardens Girona, Temps de Flors, will take place in Girona. At this time, the city will be filled with the delicate scents of spring, and its ancient streets, squares, courtyards and parks will enchant you with bright colours. Even the usual shopping or a simple visit to a café will turn into a fantastic adventure. As part of Girona, Temps de Flors, more than 40 shops in the city will take part in a window and interior design competition. And restaurants and cafés will serve dishes made from edible flowers.

At Girona, Temps de Flors will present 137 floral projects distributed in 109 spaces. Guests will be able to visit these locations daily from 9:30 am to 9 pm. And on Saturdays 11 and 18 May and Wednesday 15 May, as part of a special Flors de Nit promotion, the floral spaces will be open until midnight.

Sixteen districts of Girona are participating in the events, including the most tourist-favourite historic quarter of Barri Vell. On the official Temps de Flors website you will find itineraries, including those for less mobile travellers, allowing you to visit the most interesting floral spaces.

Don’t miss the city’s iconic locations, which will be even more beautiful during the exhibition: Girona Cathedral, St Philip’s Church, the medieval Gironella Tower, the Church of Sant Marti Sacosta, the Arab baths and the majestic Palau de Caramany.

There will also be new exhibition spaces in 2024:

  • Casa Solterra’s Gothic courtyard on the Cami de la Reina Hermessenda;
  • the vaults of La Rambla;
  • Carrer de l’Argenteria;
  • Casino de Girona garden;
  • Mas Ramada Art House.

If you’re interested in popular culture, be sure to admire the floral projects Patio de les Magnòlies, Casa Solterra, Plaça del Vi and the roundabout of Rellotge and Carrer de l’Argenteria.

The Girona, Temps de Flors programme also includes concerts, exhibitions and guided tours of historic buildings. A particularly large influx of visitors is expected during the weekend. So if you have the opportunity, come to Girona on weekdays. The easiest way to get here from Barcelona is by train. The journey will take about 40 minutes.

As Catalonia continues to struggle with drought, Girona City Council and the festival organisers have implemented a number of water conservation measures. To create the floral arrangements, priority was given to local plant species adapted to the climate. In addition, dried and stabilised flowers were used. They also implemented a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation.
