On July 26, the official opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games will take place in Paris. According to the organizers, it will be so bold and original that it will undoubtedly be one of the brightest moments in the history of the Olympics. They decided to radically change the gala event, while leaving it accessible to a wide audience.
For the first time in history, the opening of the Summer Olympic Games will not take place in a stadium. The ceremony, which will be attended by 10500 athletes, will be held in the heart of Paris — on and along the Seine River. Each team will sail in their own boat equipped with cameras, thanks to which viewers will be able to see their idols up close. The procession will follow the Seine for about 6 km and finish near the Trocadéro, where the final show will take place.
Everyone will be able to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games for free. Fans will not have to buy tickets to enter the upper banks of the Seine. But those who wanted to get to the lower ones — from Austerlitz to Jena Bridge — had to pay. Tickets cost from 90 to 2700 euros and were sold out very quickly. As of July 23, they are not for sale on the official Olympics website.
Live coverage of the Olympic Games will begin at approximately 19:30 Peninsula time and 18:30 in the Canary Islands. You can watch it for free on the La1 RTVE channel by tuning it to DTT. It is also recommended to use the RTVE Play service and the official RTVE Play application for viewing on mobile phones.

The Spanish men’s national football team dreams of winning the gold medal again. The last time she won it was more than 30 years ago – at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. Despite the specific requirements for team members (almost all athletes must be no more than 23 years old), coach Santiago Denia Sanchez managed to assemble a promising squad of 18 players. The Spaniards’ opponents in the group stages will be the Dominican Republic, Egypt and Uzbekistan. And in the quarterfinals they will meet the teams of Israel, Paraguay, Mali and Japan.
