The Battle of Flowers in Valencia will take place on July 28

On Sunday, July 28, the famous Battle of Flowers (Batalla de Flores) will take place in Valencia. One of the most anticipated events of the Great July Fair will traditionally take place at Paseo de La Alameda.

The festival has been held in the city since 1891. His carnations are grown in huge fields in Alboraya, Meliana, Alcàsser and other municipalities of the province.

The celebration will begin at 20:00. It will be opened by a motorcade of municipal police, followed by a parade of floats decorated with flowers. They will be ridden by girls and women in traditional costumes — representatives of the main faleras of Valencia. They will be accompanied by honored guests — Bellea del foc and the Queen of the Castellos.

After the parade passes along the embankment, the most interesting thing will begin — the flower battle. Spectators will throw carnations at festival participants, and girls will hit them into the stands with bright tennis rackets. 1,200,000 carnations have been prepared for Batalla de Flores 2024. At the end of the battle, Paseo de La Alameda will be covered with a colorful, fragrant carpet of flowers.

Not all spectators can take part in the battle, but only those who occupy one of the 425 boxes in the stands. Before the holiday, the Valencia City Council is raffling off 375 boxes between those who registered on the official website of the event. The remaining 50 boxes will be available for purchase at the box office on Saturday, July 27, from 10:00 to 13:30. Spectators who were not lucky enough to be among the participants will be able to admire the colorful spectacle from the stands.
