National Geographic magazine included Playa de la Carolina beach in the Murcia region in its annual list of the 25 best beaches on the coast of Spain. This beautiful place is located in the municipality of Aguilas (Alto Guadalentín comarca) and is part of the protected landscape of Cuatro Calas, included in the Natura 2000 network. It is famous for its biodiversity and practically untouched nature.
The beach faces east and boasts golden sand and excellent views of the picturesque cape. For the high quality and safety of water, it has been repeatedly awarded the Blue Flag. Due to the peculiarities of the landscape, Playa de la Carolina is protected from waves and flows from the west, north, and south. This makes it a great location for recreation with children. Another advantage of the beach is that it is easily accessible by car along the RM-333 road.
Playa de la Carolina in the region of Murcia has been recognized by National Geographic magazine not for the first time. In 2022 and 2023, the edition also included it in the list of the most beautiful beaches in Spain.
