The annual La Vuelta Ciclista road cycling race will start on August 17 in Lisbon (Portugal), and its final stage will be held on September 8 in Madrid. A 22 km route will be created for the decisive individual time trial. This year it will pass through 8 districts of the city — Hortaleza, Chamartín, Ciudad Lineal, Chamberí, Centro, Tetuán and Retiro, and will end at the Telefónica building. The award ceremony for the winners will take place at El Paisaje de la Luz.
La Vuelta 24 includes 21 stages, and the total length of its route is 3,265 kilometers. From August 17 to September 8, athletes will experience routes of varying difficulty, many of which pass through mountain peaks, two individual time trials, and two rest days. You can find the schedule and routes on the official La Vuelta website.
For more than 10 years, Telefónica has been the official sponsor of the La Vuelta cycling race, which celebrates its centenary in 2024.
As a sign of respect and gratitude, the final stage of the competition will end near the iconic Telefónica building, located on Gran Vía.
