The Javier Fernández Ice Rink will open in Madrid on November 28th
The Plaza Colón will once again be one of the epicenters of Christmas celebrations in Madrid. From November 28 to January 6, the 800 m² Javier Fernandez ice rink will be open. It will be opened by the Olympic figure skating champion himself. Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Down Spain, an organization that supports people with Down syndrome.
Everyone will be able to skate regardless of age, but children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost 8 euros. The price includes 30 minutes of skating and skate rental, available in sizes 29 to 48. And the youngest athletes are offered blades that can be attached to their shoes.
You need to skate with special gloves, they can be rented directly at the rink for only 2 euros. Parents can also rent bears to help kids learn to stand on skates. Tickets are on sale now at pistadehielojavierfernandez.es. The rink’s schedule varies by date and day of the week. You can check it out here.
Next to the Javier Fernández skating rink, a large Christmas fair will open in Plaza Colón. Not only will you be able to buy everything from souvenirs to traditional holiday treats, but you will also be able to ride the musical carousel.
