The Museum of Romanticism in Madrid is holding an open day in honour of its centenary and invites you to visit it for free throughout June. You will have access to all exhibitions, including four temporary exhibitions, namely:
The museum opened in 1924 in the former palace of the Marquis of Matallana, built in 1776. It features a collection of 17,000 objects – paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs, clothing jewellery, furniture and decorations from the 19th century. And the museum halls recreate the daily life and customs of the high society of the Romantic era.
Museum opening hours from May to October: from Tuesday to Saturday — from 9:30 am to 20:30 pm, on Sundays and public holidays — from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
On Sunday, 9 June, the museum will be open from 1:45 pm to 3:00 pm to guarantee its employees the right to cast their vote in the European Parliament elections.
While in Madrid, you can also visit the Prado Museum, considered a true treasure trove of European art.
