On the Night of Candles, medieval Vejer de la Frontera (Andalusia) attracts so many tourists that traffic has to be stopped. This is one of the most anticipated and romantic events in the city’s calendar when the streets and squares of its historical center are decorated with 18,000 lights. This year the holiday will take place on June 8th.
Vejer is part of the Association of the most beautiful cities in Spain.
Feel the amazing atmosphere of the Night of Candles by following these routes: Plazuela, Calle Juan Bueno, Calle Judería, Mesón de Ánimas, Calle Rosario, Callejón de las Monjas, Calle Ramón y Cajal, Plaza del Padre Ángel, Murallas de La Segur, Calle José Castrillón, Plaza de España.
Signs will help tourists find their way. In addition, employees of city organizations and associations will be on duty at street intersections.
By 09:45 p.m., return to the Plaza de España (Plaza de los Pescaítos) and enjoy a performance by the classical music quartet Proyecto Erytheia, surrounded by flickering candles.
