The Requena es Cava 2024 festival, dedicated to the famous Valencian cava wine, will take place on June 15 in the city of Requena, 68 kilometers from Valencia. The event will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Plaza de Albornoz (Plaza de La Villa), in the heart of the old town of Requena.
The festival is organized by the Requena Cava Producers Association, which includes 7 wineries:
Requena is the only municipality in the Valencian Community that allows the production of sparkling wines using the traditional method, which is protected by the Regulatory Council D.O. Cava (Consejo Regulador D.O. Cava).
At the festival, you will have the perfect opportunity to enjoy refreshing sparkling wines of the highest quality in a place called the cradle of Valencian Cava. This is the perfect drink for summer.
The gastronomic tandem with wine will be the famous local snacks — Clóchina de Valencia mussels and various types of cheeses, hams and sausages. They are provided by the event’s partners: the Clochineros de València Association, the El Serrano butcher shop, the Holly Food restaurant, Patapuerca tavern and the Quesos Hoya de la Iglesia company, whose products received a bronze medal at the World Cheese Awards.
As a festival participant, you will receive a tasting ticket and a personalized crystal glass to keep as a souvenir.
