On November 20, 2024, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona will illuminate the facade of the Nativity in red from 20:00 to 23:00. This action will be dedicated to the RedWeek initiative promoted by the organization Ayuda a la Iglesia Necesitada (Helping the Church in Need). Its goal is to draw attention to the problems of Christians who are persecuted around the world.
In 2024, events in honor of RedWeek take place from November 16 to 23. As part of the initiative, more than 1,000 buildings in 20 countries will be lit up red in solidarity with persecuted Christians. In Austria, South America, France, Germany and other nations, there will be solemn Masses, prayer evenings and meetings by survivors of religious persecution.
