The Spanish national team won the 2024 European Football Championship
On Sunday, July 14, the final match of the 2024 European Football Championship took place. Two ambitious young national teams — Spain and England — came together in a tense game at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. King Philip VI of Spain and Prince William of England supported their teams in the stands.
On the way to the decisive match, the Spaniards defeated the Italians, Croats, Albanians, Germans, and French, while the British knocked out the Danes, Slovenes, Serbs, Slovaks, the Swiss, and the Netherlands.
The scoring in the final was opened in the 47th minute at the beginning of the second half. Nico Williams rolled the ball into Jordan Pickford’s goal. England were able to respond in the 73rd minute when Cole Palmer, replacing Harry Kane, beat the La Furia Roja defense and scored from 20 meters into the far left corner. Everything was decided four minutes before the end of normal time. Mikel Oyarzabal completed the Spanish attack with a precise goal against the Three Lions.
Thus, the Spanish national football team has won three of the last five European championships (2008, 2012, 2024).
The editors of Spain Voyages sincerely congratulate the athletes and coaching staff on their victory at Euro 2024!
