On the weekend of June 15 and 16, Barcelona hosts the X Matsuri 2024 Japanese Culture Festival. The event takes place from midday to 8:00 p.m. at the Moll de la Fusta pier. Visiting the festival is free.
Guests of Matsuri 2024 will be immersed in Japanese culture. You will see the festive bon-odori dance and get acquainted with Japanese painting and calligraphy. The program includes a performance by the Barcelona Taiko group, which will demonstrate the ancient art of playing traditional Japanese drums. And also — an impressive sword fight from the show team of samurai and ninja Katanayaichi.
Interesting master classes are held for children. You can take a memorable photo in a photo booth by renting a summer yukata kimono. Don’t miss the stalls selling Japanese street food and handmade souvenirs.
The festival is organized by the Association of Japanese Culture with the participation of the Consulate General of Japan in Barcelona and the Barcelona City Council.
